"1...2...3!" Zatanna yelled before pulling a rabbit out of her hat as the audience clapped. It had been a while since she had performed in Gotham City and the audience never changed, but then again audiences never changed no matter where she went as they all wanted one thing: entertainment and maybe to believe a little in magic. That was the life of a stage magician, to always entertain the audience and to make sure that they never failed to deliver it, however what most didn't know was that Zatanna wasn't using any illusions at all; she was using pure magic to do her performances. She may be the last of the Homo Magi, but it didn't mean that she couldn't use magic. "Thank you, thank you, you've been a great audience," as the performance ended as she bowed and took her leave.
She wondered how Bruce was doing while she went to the backstage, it had been a while since she talked to him...not since his parents' funeral and not since the disappearances of her father. Both of them had lost their only parents, but despite that they hadn't spoken in months. Perhaps she should visit his home once she got settled into Gotham? However she pushed that out of her head as all she really wanted right now was to get something to eat.

Company work always bored Bruce, and it was better suited to the people who ran the company while he was too young to do it. He didn't like to work on these sorts of things, but it was a learning experience, and would help him in the long run. Assuming he wanted to do this, and not just hand it off to others and continue as a vigilante and hero.
He pushed the papers away, "Ok, I'm done," he said, picking up his phone, "Can you sent Robert in? I'll leave the rest of the paperwork to him. Thank you." He set his phone back down and headed out of the office. He kept his suit for now instead of changing at work. As he got into his car, he stopped and thought for a bit.
He'd seen flyers for Zatanna's show. He'd lost touch with her after his parents were murdered; all of that childish innocence and friendship had been buried deep with his anger and rage. He knew her father had disappeared, and had wanted to reach out to her then, but just couldn't, not while he was with the League.
He headed to her show. He wasn't sure if he'd see any of it, but he wanted to at least see her and try to rekindle their friendship.

Zatanna took a long drink from her water bottle as she thought about what to do next, that was the last show for the evening and she was feeling quite peckish at the moment. She hadn't eaten anything as it was all about getting herself prepared for her first show in Gotham and now she was starting to really feel the hunger settle in, "I'm going to go and get something to eat," she announced.
"What? Isn't it better just to wait for catering?" one of her assistant asked.
"No I"m fine," Zatanna said, "I can take care of myself," as she grabbed her coat and just put it over her usual clothing before going outside.

Bruce arrived soon enough and got out of his car. He headed for the backstage area and just had to give his name to anyone who tried to stop him. His name got him far, and he didn't feel bad about using this approach to things. He wanted to see Zatanna, and just hoped that she was still around.
It had been far too long. He needed to rectify the mistakes of the past and reunite with her. Things were getting dangerous in his life, and if he could find one thing - anything - that would bring him back to how it used to be, then it would be ok.

As Zatanna walked out of the backstage she looked to a couple that was talking amongst themselves and she wondered about whether Bruce had found someone or not. The last time that she had seen him was when they were still children and he had been taken by his family butler, Alfred, before going off in their limo; since then she had engrossed herself with her father's work as it was around the same time that her father began to teach her their trade. After her father mysteriously vanished Zatanna became obsessed with finding her father and before long she lost touch with Bruce; now she wondered if he was happy and had a girlfriend, she wouldn't be surprised if he did, though his happiness was her main priority.
Before she managed to walk out the main door she stopped and gasped in surprise. There was Bruce walking towards her as she blinked her eyes to make sure that she wasn't imagining things before she opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out and it was a while before she was able to say anything, "B-Bruce!" she said, "W-what are you doing here?"

When he saw her come out, he smiled. It was her. It may have been years, but he still knew it was her. Well, the costume helped givei t away, but even without it, there was something that would never leave. A bond he would always feel.
"Been a while," Bruce said with a smile, "That's why I'm here. I wanted to see you again. We were such good friends as children, there was no reason for us to go our separate ways for this long. We're still friends, after all. Or at least, I'd like to assume we are." He walked over and stopped in front of her, "You're looking really good."

Zatanna gave a nervous chuckle when she saw Bruce, it had been a while since she had last saw him and he didn't look any different just...just older. She heard Bruce talked to her and how he wanted to reconnect once again as Zatanna flipped her hair back as she looked down; she also wanted to reconnect with Bruce, but after so many years? She didn't know if they were the same person as they were back when they were children, back when everything was alright, "I-I know Bruce...I also want to talk to you and reconnect with you...but I mean it's been so long and...and I don't know if I'm the same Zatanna that you knew and if you're the same Bruce I know. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't give it a go," she said with a smile, "how about we go out to dinner as a start? I know of a great bistro that serves a mean steak," she suggested.

He listened to her words and gave her a nod, "Yes, I agree. I'm not the same Bruce you once knew, and in my experience over these last few years, you won't be the same either. Nobody stays the same, but we become better than we were. Steak sounds lovely."
He was far different than she would remember. After his years of training and traveling, the old Bruce was buried under a stronger man. The old Bruce was weaker, maybe kinder and more naive, but this new Bruce was something far more. Something with an edge, with a plan, with a duty.
