Greek gods. Egyptian gods. Japanese kami. Loa. Native American spirits. Unbeknownst to the much of the human race, they all exist. Many of them aren't as powerful as they once were, but they're still there. Due to an inter-pantheon treaty, they are forbidden from directly interfering in mortal affairs, with the express loophole of utilizing mortals and lesser magical beings in order to accomplish their goals. Something big is stirring, big enough to spook the powers that be into several of them choosing a champion and forcing them to come together as a unified forced - the Questbound. They'll be tasked with epic quests filled with monsters, magic, and mayhem. When someone is chosen, they are marked with a glowing insignia on the back of their right hand that appears whenever they are summoned to a quest and are mental instructions on where to meet with the others. The only requirement to become Questbound is that the character must be magic of some kind, be it inherently or wield a mystical object of power. Anyone goes, be it hero or villain. 1. Wonder Woman, representing Olympus and Themyscira (Quetz) 2. John Constantine, representing Heaven (Crimson) 3. Zatanna Zatara, representing the Homo Magi and the goddess Hecate (Nihon) 4. 5. 6. 7.

John will make it clear that he wasn't Heaven's first choice, but sometimes you have to go with the lesser of two evils.

I'll have Zatanna join in as her magical powers would prove to be invaluable and she would be the ideal representative for the Homo Magis, and indeed the Hecate, the Greek Goddess of Magic and Occult.
