Overview: If you talked to Barry Allen, you'd never expect him to be a superhero. He keeps a calm head on his shoulders, and is quite laid back and witty. He is respectable and well mannered, acting like the perfect southern gentleman, even if he is a but clumsy and shows up late to things.

Barry tried to have a normal life, he really did.. When he was eight he was woken up in the middle of the night as time seemed to slow down. He went to investigate and saw a yellow blur accosting his mother, who told him to run. The blur moved like a bolt of lightning, surging around the room and in the blink of an eye he was suddenly in the middle of the road down the street. When he got back to his house his father was already being pulled away in handcuffs, supposedly for killing his mother.

Barry was fostered by an older couple, Joan and Jason Garrick. Barry decided from that day forward that he would try to help people accused of crimes, and maybe get his father off. He tried out to be a cop and failed due to a lack of physical skills, so he instead decided to buckle down and help in the crime lab - hence his job as a CSI at CPD. He was working late one night when a strange storm brewed over the town. A scarlet bolt of lightning struck him and knocked him into a wall of chemicals, turning him into the fastest man alive. Upon learning this he talked to his old foster father for guidance as to what to do with these fantastic new abilities. Jay smiled and revealed that he was once Keystone City's protector as the Flash, and then told Barry to use his new found powers for good.

And with that, The Flash ran through the streets once more.
